Aquaventure Waterpark in Dubai is located on the grounds of the luxurious 5-star Atlantis hotel, which is situated on the shore of the man-made island of Palm Jumeirah. This is one of the places we visited during our winter holiday in Dubai.
My family and I were also delighted to visit the giant Dubai Aquarium, listed in the Guinness Book of Records and located in the Dubai Mall shopping centre. You can read my review and see photos at the link My review of a visit to the Dubai Aquarium.
My wife, sixteen-year-old son and I went to the water park and we were all very happy.
as there are both quiet rafting rides and extreme slides, which I call ‘head-to-toe’ slides, which my son prefers. Beach lovers will also find a day at the water park enjoyable. Lying on soft cushions under palm trees, smoking Arabic hookah and admiring the mesmerising views of the Persian Gulf is something else!
Aquaventure Waterpark is one of the largest water parks in the world with a huge number of water slides of various heights and difficulty levels, a variety of attractions and various themed entertainment programmes for all ages.
I really liked the attraction called the Lazy River. It starts right after an extreme descent from slides that come out of a Mayan pyramid and lasts 1.5 kilometres. It’s such a relaxing way to cool down after the extreme rides, floating on a tube through caves, waterfalls and other interesting man-made places. While floating down the Lazy River, you can stop at any slide you like. Throughout the entire ride, you are under the watchful eye of the water park staff, who are nearby in themed costumes.
The trip ends at a gorgeous sandy beach with lots of sun loungers called Aquaventure Beach, if I’m not mistaken.
For those who decide to visit the water park with little ones, there is a special water play area for small children, where there are dozens of all kinds of gentle but no less interesting water slides,
with all kinds of shallow pools, including waterfalls, tipping buckets and exhibits in the form of fake sunken pirate ships.
You can get around the huge Atlantis water park on foot or by golf cart, which will take you to any corner you want, except for the Atlantis hotel itself, which is only accessible to guests. It’s a shame, as I really wanted to see how the rich and famous relax.
We stayed at the wonderful 5* Park Regis Kris Kin city hotel, conveniently located in the centre of Dubai.
There are six restaurants, many different pizzerias, burger joints and fast food cafes on the water park grounds, where you can either have a hearty lunch or an inexpensive snack. I can’t say whether alcohol is available, as we didn’t ask.
To sum up my review, based on my personal experience and the many positive emotions I experienced, I can assure you that Aquaventure Waterpark is a wonderful place for both children and adults to relax, and everyone will be satisfied.
I can highly recommend the hotel where we stayed in Dubai, the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel 5*.
