Hello, everyone! I would like to share my review of my holiday at Aquaventure Waterpark, located on the grounds of the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai. For those who are unfamiliar with the location, the Atlantis Hotel is situated at the top of the Palm Jumeirah, an artificial island.
We didn’t take a tour. We got there by taxi and left on the monorail.
The queue at the ticket office was huge, but it moved quickly, so we only waited about 15 minutes. I think that’s very fast. We got changed in the changing rooms and went to have fun.
Aquaventure is not just a water park. It has an aquarium, a dolphinarium, a diving centre and access to a beach with a view of the mainland. From the beach, you can see the Burj Khalifa tower and the famous ‘Sail’ – the Burj Al Arab hotel.
There are plenty of different slides, but there was always a queue for the most interesting ones. There are slides with complete darkness inside, slides that pass through the aquarium, and you can see sharks and stingrays while swimming inside a glass tube.
The only slide with no queue was the ‘Leap of Faith’ on Neptune’s Tower – an almost vertical descent from a height of 27 metres into a pool with sharks. It is the most extreme slide in the water park. I didn’t dare to try it, even though I’m not usually a coward.

A river runs through the entire water park, which in places turns into turbulent streams and waterfalls. There are lifeguards every 10-15 metres along the river. When you slide down any slide, you end up in this river and float along it to the next slide, so you don’t have to walk. But I recommend walking because the water park is very picturesque.
There is a large children’s playground with lots of slides and water jets. The water is very warm. In fact, the water is warm throughout the entire water park. We visited in January.
The ticket price included lunch at the water park restaurant. There are other cafes on the premises.
The ticket price is high and is for the whole day, so I recommend coming in the morning and staying until closing time.
