Our Exciting Adventure at Aquaventure Water Park, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai — From Taxi Mishap to Thrilling Slides

Our trip to the water park began with a taxi ride. The local taxi driver started driving us around Dubai, and since it was our first time there, we didn’t suspect anything at first, but then it seemed to us that we were going in the wrong direction. Our GPS on our phone saved us, and we explained to the taxi driver that we wanted to go the other way, and then we finally arrived. The water park is located on Palm Jumeirah (an artificial island in the sea shaped like a palm tree). It is a very beautiful place. There is another way to get there, which is by high-speed electric train. But you also need to get to the train station first.

The first thing that caught our eye at the entrance to the water park was the long queue. We stood in line for a long time to get tickets and finally got inside. At the entrance, we were searched, as everywhere else, our bags were checked, and our food and water were taken away. We were given wristbands.

The water park itself is very large (17 hectares). We were given a map to find our way to the various attractions.

What I liked:

– The variety of slides: there are long ones, short ones, fast ones and ones in a transparent tube with sharks and different fish.

– There is a children’s water park.

– Everything is very beautiful, with artificial canals that you float down after sliding down the slides, and each attraction seems to continue into the next one. When you slide down one slide and float down the canal, you can immediately get on another slide, which is very convenient.

– The coolest slide is the kamikaze slide from Neptune’s tower. It is 25 metres high. The maximum speed is 35 kilometres per hour. The first time you go down it is very scary, it takes your breath away, you can’t even scream. You fly down at an incredible speed, almost without touching the slide. At the bottom, it passes through a pool with sharks, but I’ve never seen them because you’re going so fast and your eyes are closed)) The next few times aren’t as scary, and you even want to push off harder at the start. But there are all kinds of warnings and instructions at the entrance. People with heart conditions and other illnesses (I won’t list them because I don’t remember) should not go down it. And rightly so, because after you come off it, your adrenaline is sky high.

This slide alone is worth a visit to this water park!

– You can go down the slides in pairs on a double tube or alone. There are lots of tubes, enough for everyone.

– There is a swimming pool if you get tired of going down the slides, but because there are so many people, it can be difficult to find a free sun lounger.

– There is a shark pool where you can watch them being fed.

– Very polite and attentive staff, good security system. They are always ready to help and give directions.

– Guests staying at the Atlantis Hotel can use the water park unlimited and free of charge.

– There are many cafes and fast food restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat.

– There is access to the beach with sun loungers where you can sunbathe and swim. There were plenty of free spots.

– Outside the water park, there are many different boutiques and regular shops, as well as a water zoo.

– Overall, you should come here in the morning and stay for the whole day.
