We vacationed in the Emirates in November. At first, we didn’t plan to go to the water park, as the excursion there cost $65. We figured it would be better to go to Fujairah for almost the same price. But then there was a notice at the hotel saying that a free bus would take us to Wild Wadi, so we went, naively thinking we would save a lot.
Admission to the water park cost $55, so we saved $10. We didn’t regret it at all.
The water park imitates the Wadi mountain river and has 23 attractions. One of the highest ones allows you to reach speeds of up to 80 km/h. The famous Burj Al Arab is located next to the water park, and I took a photo of it from the highest attraction. We didn’t go down the highest slide because it was very scary, and you need special suits because you can get soaked and end up in your underwear.
We tried three attractions, which was enough for me. It was scary, even terrifying. Especially the descent into a completely dark tube that seemed to go on forever. There was a very interesting pool with artificial waves that appeared periodically.
At the entrance, you are given a bracelet on which you can put a certain amount of money and then pay for food and drinks. You are not allowed to bring food with you, and bags are checked, but not very thoroughly.
We had juice and bananas with us, and they were not taken away.
