I was lucky enough to visit the United Arab Emirates in March 2019. The weather in March is warm, but it’s not the season for swimming, but it’s perfect for excursions.
Yas Waterworld is located next to Ferrari Park. I got there from Abu Dhabi by taxi. I know that it is much cheaper to get there by public transport, but the hotel staff may not be able to tell you how to do this.
The water park opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m.
In the evening, the water park is open for women only for a few hours.
I don’t remember the price, as I bought all the excursions for my entire stay in Abu Dhabi (5 days and all excursions) at a travel agency. I was sold a ticket that was valid for Yas Waterworld and FERRARI WORLD.
The concept of the water park is based on the legend of a girl who is looking for a pearl. In the water park, you can dive to the bottom of the aquarium and collect oysters.
At the entrance to the water park, there are shops selling related goods. There is fast food in the water park itself, but it is not very varied.
The attractions are quite varied. There are some very extreme ones and some for children.
When you enter the water park from the changing rooms, you immediately find yourself on the beach with the Amwaj outdoor pool and beach. The pool has artificial waves.
I was impressed by the Dawwama slide. The descent is very unpredictable and twisty. The slide is designed for 6 people, so shared emotions are guaranteed.
The Jebel Drop slide, which rises to a height of 300 metres, is considered extreme.
The high slides offer stunning panoramic views of Ferrari Park with its extreme attractions.
Slither’s Slides and Hamlool’s Humps are original and spectacularly designed slides. They are a favourite spot for tourists to take photos. The descent down these slides is accompanied by colourful music.
I am a big fan of extreme sports, so I was impressed by the slide with a completely vertical descent. The slide is enclosed; you enter like an elevator, the door closes, and the floor disappears sharply under your feet, and you fly down.
For children and those who are not fans of extreme sports, there is a lazy river in the water park.
The water park didn’t seem that big to me, but I really liked the attractions. When you’re not doing extreme stuff, you can just walk around and enjoy the landscaping of the water park.
I would like to mention the water park staff separately. The Arabs are very polite and patient people. Everyone is always ready to help and speaks good English. Before the extreme descent, an Arab woman employee encouraged me with a speech about how all my fears were only in my head)) She also took a photo of me.
I spent only half a day at the water park. After lunch, I went to Ferrari Park, which is across the road. But I only liked one attraction at Ferrari. The rest were not extreme enough for me, so I prefer Yas Waterworld.
