My husband and I planned a very active holiday in the UAE, so we only made it to the beach a couple of times, but we had to visit the water park! I had read many positive reviews about Wild Wadi, and it was close to our hotel, so we decided to go there.
I don’t recommend going to the water park on Friday or Saturday, as these are weekends in the UAE and there are a lot of locals.
I really liked that this water park is not just a bunch of slides in one place, but that they are all connected by a theme – the travels of Sinbad. The whole atmosphere is full of adventure – there is a shipwreck, a camel, huge waterfalls, suspension bridges and beautiful nature.
Each attraction has its own special story related to the sea voyage of the mythical hero Sinbad and his companions, whose ship was wrecked and the crew found themselves in this paradise on earth. According to legend, it was Sinbad and his companions who created all these amazing cascades and waterfalls of Wild Wadi.
The water park has many slides for children and adults, a surf simulator, extreme slides, a lazy river, and my favourite, the ‘reverse slide’. I don’t know what it’s called, but the point is that the water flow lifts you up, which is a very unusual sensation. I also remember the completely dark tunnel with sudden turns. I also really liked the huge wave pool with imitation sand at the bottom.
After riding the slides, you can relax in comfortable deck chairs under umbrellas. Despite the intense heat, my husband and I didn’t get sunburned, partly because we used sunscreen and partly because there are many trees in the water park that create pleasant shade.
