We had originally planned to go to a different water park, but we came across an offer for free admission on your birthday and decided that it was meant to be. After all, one of us had a birthday during our holiday.
A week before our arrival, we started looking for ways to book tickets. This turned out to be a terribly difficult task, because the link to the promotion had disappeared from the website, or rather, the ‘continue’ button didn’t work. After a couple of days of searching, a kind guide sent us a direct link (I’ll attach it to the review).
Our problems didn’t end there: when registering the birthday boy, no email with the coupon arrived. After several attempts to register, it finally arrived! Hurray!
Then the other two future visitors to the water park tried to buy tickets online.
The price on the website was about 330 dirhams, so we decided to pay at the ticket office on the day of our visit, as we already had dollars. Well done.
The road to the water park was long, exhausting and quite expensive. We calculated our expenses: 7.5 dirhams for the metro ticket + 15 dirhams for the monorail ticket. That’s 850 roubles for a round trip.
But the monorail offers beautiful views of the luxurious hotel The Palm.
When we arrived, we saw a huge queue to buy and collect pre-purchased tickets, in which we spent about 40 minutes. A ticket on the spot cost 400 dirhams per person – 7,600 roubles. Plus 55 dirhams for 1 storage locker. But even that couldn’t spoil our mood on this beautiful hot day in Dubai)
What did spoil it?
- The 40-minute queues for the slides killed us, of course. And we were there on a weekday, Thursday.
- There are very few slides.
- The tiles get extremely hot in the sun, and it’s very painful to step on them, so you have to move quickly from shade to shade. For example, in Abu Dhabi, the tiles on the streets are cool, apparently made of some special material. But here they saved money.
What did you like about this park?
- There are open boxes near each slide for storing things (glasses, slippers, and any other personal items that you can’t take with you on the rides).
- Cool ‘lazy river’. We enjoyed doing two laps around the entire park sitting in inner tubes. Mostly you float slowly along the current, occasionally hitting rapids, which is a little scary. Once, someone flipped over in them.
- Interesting, moderately extreme group slides designed for 5-7 people.
- There are various extras such as an aquarium, a dolphinarium, and access to the sea.
