Aquaventure Waterpark: Thrills, Waves & a Few Surprises

Hello, travel enthusiasts and theme park lovers! Today, I will tell you about the Atlantis water park in Dubai. We spent a long time choosing between Wild Wadi and Atlantis. But we decided to combine a trip on the monorail with a visit to the Atlantis hotel and the water park.

We bought tickets on the official Atlantis website. The ticket cost about 5,000 per person. We exchanged our electronic tickets at the entrance without any problems and entered the water park. The park itself is very picturesque, with lots of vegetation, beautiful landscapes and a large area. The highlight is the aquarium, a large glass wall where you can admire a wide variety of marine life.

There is even a slide where you enter a tunnel of the aquarium and are surrounded by fish on all sides. In the next photo, if you look closely, you can see people coming out of this slide. There was the longest queue for it.

The second highlight of the water park is the free-fall slide. This is the slide where the floor disappears from under your feet and you fly, the height is about 9 storeys, the descent takes a couple of seconds) you also fly through a tunnel among fish)

Another plus of the water park is its own beach.

There aren’t many people there, as there is plenty of entertainment, but nevertheless, you can lie on sun loungers, bask in the sun, walk on the sand, and swim in the saltwater bay, as the water on the slides is cool. And now for the most interesting part: the slides.

There are two towers with slides coming out of them. Almost all of the slides are accessed through the towers.

BUT there are a couple of slides that you can access from a lazy river, which are lazy slides) I’ll tell you all about them)

Slides on round doughnuts: there are two of them, and they’re cool adrenaline-fuelled slides) One is where you shoot out of a tube onto an open curved surface and, like a pendulum or a boat, you swing smoothly down into the pool. And the second one, where you swing down the entire length with an open top.

Slides for one or two people: There are quite a few of these. A slide that takes you into an aquarium tunnel. The slide itself is not interesting, but it’s worth swimming through the tunnel among the fish. On the same level as the slide with fish, there is another one, and also one floor above. Slides with descents and ascents powered by water. Interesting slides. We also found a slide that you enter from a lazy river, and we called it the lazy slide)

You float on a tube down the river and turn where you need to, and you end up on an escalator that lifts you up on the tube to the tower. There it turns around, and you’re on the slide without even getting off the tube, and…You’re flying! The slide is cool and exciting, with descents, ascents and water splashes.

Lazy river: A lazy river runs through the entire water park, although you can’t really call it lazy, as you have to paddle constantly, otherwise you risk moving at a very slow speed or not moving at all. There are also areas of the river where the water is turbulent. You float quickly through the waves and spray, which I really liked. There is also a wave area where the waves toss you around, which is not bad, and you pick up speed, which is interesting.

Of course, there is a wonderful children’s area, but we were without children, so I can’t describe it. It looks interesting from the outside, though. There is also a rope slide from one tower to another, but it seems to be for an extra fee.

Photographers are working throughout the entire ride. If you notice them and pose while swimming, the photos turn out good, but they are very expensive.

Organisational issues: We were there on Tuesday, there weren’t many people, we didn’t have to queue for more than 15 minutes anywhere. We took one small cabin for two, our things fit in. We walked barefoot. It is open from 10 a.m. until sunset, until 5-6 p.m.

We got there by monorail for 30 dirhams each way, if you buy a return ticket at the same time; if you buy them separately, it’s more expensive. The monorail ride takes about 10 minutes, you can sit in the first car and watch everything from the driver’s perspective.

So, there aren’t that many slides, 8-9, but if there are no queues, you can ride to your heart’s content. Huge area, beautiful park, landscapes, vegetation, private beach. The river is not lazy, with interesting areas, waves and splashes.

After the water park, you can take a walk along the embankment near the Atlantis Hotel. It’s beautiful. You are not allowed on the hotel grounds. Six hours in the water park was enough for us.

By the way, it is forbidden to bring food and drinks, but if you try hard and hide the food well in your backpacks, you can carry it in without being checked, but it may depend on the security guards. We also took towels with us, but you can rent them there.

I would like the price to be lower, but otherwise it’s not bad. My impressions are positive.
