Dubai Beyond Skyscrapers: A Thrilling Day at Aquaventure Waterpark

Tell me, what do you associate with Dubai? For me personally, one of the most important associations is the Aquaventure Waterpark. While in Dubai, we decided to visit the water park, which is ranked among the top 5 best water parks in the world!

Our visit took place in early May.

We bought tickets to the water park from our tour operator Coral Travel for $85. The price included the water park, aquarium and transfer.

We drove along with the wind in our hair and admired the beautiful views. The territory is very large, but at the same time well-maintained.Important!The first and most important tower, the one with the sharks, is CLOSED until October!!! We weren’t very happy about this news. Personally, I was very disappointed. On top of that, no one lowered the ticket prices.

So we arrived at the second tower.

All the sun loungers by the pool were taken. We managed to find only one, and it only served as a place to put our things, as we were on the slides the whole time. The pool is shallow. The second tower has four slides: two with rings and two that are just tubes. We rode the slide right away, five people at a time on the ring. It was fun, very fun. The lines are long, but after waiting 15 minutes, you’re already on the slide.

I’ll say right away that the second tower is less extreme. If you don’t have much time, go straight to the third tower. Tower No. 3 has slides: green – Medusa (a steep slide, 2 people sit on each circle, a sharp descent up and down),

blue – Shark Shock (more extreme than Medusa, sit 5 people on a flower, water pours down on your head, sharp descent up and down), orange – Orange (the steepest slide in the entire water park!!! sit 5 people on the flower, very sharp descent down to the ‘shovel’, high height, adrenaline rush), and 2 slides without circles (we did not ride these).

There are instructors on each slide who keep track of the descent time. This means you can relax – no one will fall on your back. Also, at the bottom, in the slide pool, the instructors push the rings towards the exit and take them to a special lift to raise them back up the slide.

The slides are cool. Of course, there are similar slides at other water parks (for example, on the second tower), but the third tower is simply mind-blowing. Laughter, joy and adrenaline all in one place.

This is the view from the slides of the water park and Atlantis.

Near the second tower, there are children’s slides, and near the third tower, there is a children’s river and jumps into the pool.

The transition between the towers takes no more than 10 minutes. You can easily find shade under the palm trees.

Walking between the towers

Between the second and third towers, there’s a beach with dolphins.

You can see them from far away. When there’s no show, the entrance is open to everyone. We watched them feed the dolphins.

Beach with dolphins

There is a beach along the water park. I recommend visiting it, as there is no public beach on Palm Island. I would like to note that you need to pay attention to the flags that the lifeguards carry. There are sun loungers everywhere. The beach is very beautiful, with white sand and turquoise water.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The water park is large, but at the same time clean and well maintained. The water park has a lot of greenery, which is a real bonus. We also liked the fact that you don’t have to carry your floats and other equipment to the top, as everything is automatically lifted up the slides.

Cons: long queues. We waited 1 hour for the orange (most popular) slide. At the same time, we knew where we were going. All large and cool water parks have queues – you can’t avoid them. But when you’re standing in a closed room where you can’t breathe for an hour during a pandemic, with 150 other people standing with you, it’s not normal. On top of that, they only let two people on the orange slide at a time, even though the flower-shaped tube is designed for five, which means the instructors themselves create the queue.

We arrived at 11 a.m. and left at 5 p.m. During that time, we went on the slides six times, watched the dolphins and visited the beach. That’s it. There was very little time. We didn’t have time to eat or drink water, not to mention lie on a sun lounger.

Pandenimya.

At the entrance to the water park, our temperature was taken. When we arrived at the second tower, we saw that masks were being handed out! One mask per person. On some slides, the staff asked people to keep their distance in the queues, but as soon as they left, everyone leaned against each other again. In a water park, there can’t be any social distancing, but, as they say, the main thing is to create the appearance of it. Almost all visitors were without masks. In short, the water park has its own carefree atmosphere, where there is no pandemic or fear, where everyone enjoys life and rejoices in the moment.

At 5 p.m., we decided to go to the aquarium. This place is worth visiting. Panoramic windows into another, marine world, halls with large aquariums, classical, relaxing music and an unforgettable atmosphere reigning in this place will leave no one indifferent.

Aquarium

We also went to the embankment and took pictures near the Atlantis Hotel, which is also considered a landmark of Dubai.

Aquaventure Waterpark is definitely worth a visit. Here you will find not only cool slides and intense emotions, but also enjoy the beauty of this place. There are excellent locations everywhere that you will want to capture in photos. A beautiful beach, a large area, cool slides, a magical aquarium. All this will be remembered for a long time. The water park is a must-visit, and not just once.
