I will tell you about my experience of visiting, how much it costs and what to pay attention to.
About the Atlantis Hotel and the monorail
The Atlantis Hotel is one of Dubai’s landmarks. It is located on the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah. Room rates start at 200$ per night. The Dubai monorail runs from the base of the man-made Palm Island to the Atlantis Hotel. The views are stunning. Watch the video and see for yourself
About the water park
If you decide to visit Dubai, the water park is a must-see. The views are magnificent, the slides are breathtaking, and the photos speak for themselves. It’s like being in a fairy tale. I don’t see the point in listing all the slides, there are so many of them. There is something for everyone. From children to adults, from gentle to scary.
For example, The Leap of Faith slide is a descent from the height of a 9-storey building, and in a matter of seconds, you find yourself in a transparent tube surrounded by stingrays and sharks. Personally, I didn’t have time to see any sharks because you fall (crossed out) slide down very quickly.
Prices and little tricks
I’ll start with the most interesting part – the prices (all prices are for two people):
- Monorail = 40 (60 for a return trip) dirhams ~ 660
- Entrance to the water park = 660 dirhams (it is worth noting that we paid the full price for admission to the water park. You can book a cheaper ticket on the website if you have a foreign card. As we found out later, you can buy a ticket from guides or travel agencies for ~ 580 dirhams
- One locker for belongings = 50 dirhams
- Waterproof phone case = 50 dirhams
A small lyrical digression… We were at the water park on Saturday. Naturally, there were a lot of people. The queues for the slides were kilometres long. After waiting in one of them for 40 minutes, we saw that there was a queue for those ‘without a queue’. In other words, it was a paid entrance. They let 5 people from the regular queue in, and then 5 people from the paid queue. It’s called the aqua express and costs 550 dirhams for two people ~ 12,100 roubles. Tip: go to the water park on weekdays so as not to spoil your experience. Or buy a pass — it’s really worth it. We managed to go on all the slides, some of them twice.
I hope that my experience described in this post will help you save money. I invite those who know more to share their stories in the comments.
